‘3 PORK CHOPS’
Film, 1920 x 1080 (7:43”)
In this body of work, my family and I became the easy-watch characters and anthropomorphic creatures of the infinite scroll, bringing some colour to the sleepy streets of Waterford City and Tramore. This material grows from my tween years loitering in Tramore - digital camera out and attempts at Tumblr fame - and the eager documenting that came with wanting to exist fully both online and in person.
Through a beach-side ‘content day,’ we channeled Vaudevillian family blogging. My family’s natural comedic timing anchors the overlays of file degradation, intuitive found-and-fed image layering and abstractions of memory inspired by my childhood post-seizure hallucinations.
It is a celebratory, if confusing, digital preservation of family life today.
